the farm
When restoring the house we preserved its original materials, the ceilings are made of tiles and wood, the floors are almost always made of old hand-made bricks, the walls contain stones, bricks, tiles, flat ceiling tiles etc. in accordance with the customs of the rural building trade of the past. The roof is made of old slates with the characteristic red-brown colour. The agritourism is situated on a spacious and gentle hill, 351m above sea level, with a 360 view over the Metauro valley, Urbania, Peglio, Monte Nerone (1500m), Montiego (800m), Monte Catria (1700m) and over the Natural Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello. The farm takes its name from the old Church (originally a pagan temple) which lies 50m away from the farmers farm-house which governed the rural property of Pieve del Collestructures
The structure is at the centre of the Organic Farm which we run directly; we have 22 hectares at disposal as well as 9 more which are rented. The agritourism is part of a protected naturalistic area which is called Oasi di Montiego and is crossed by a 42km long footpath (Urbania-Pieve del Colle-Montiego), signalled by the Comunit Montana, which is wonderful for hiking and also practicable on horse and on mountain-bike.rooms
Weve created 5 rooms within the agritourism (Fleur-de-Lis, Sunflower, Sunset, The Oaks and The Grain) each one of which has its own bathroom and self heating. Theres also a small Apartment (The Little House) which is 50m with two double rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, self heating; the Little House opens out onto the agritourisms threshing-floor where we have built a wooden gazebo which has a floor made of old bricks. With the possibility of extra beds added we can host a total of 20 people. The rooms are furnished with wooden furniture in the arte povera style. The linen and the colour of the walls are in harmony with the rooms themes: Sunset shades of orange and red, Fleur-de-Lis - pastel blue etc. opening up on the walls are stone squares, the material in which the house is built. The ceiling is made of wooden beams. A beautiful view of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed from each room, overlooking Urbania, Sasso Simone and Simoncello, the Parish-church and its two secular and particular oaks, Monte Nerone and the Metauro Valley.restaurant
The guests can dine both at lunch and at dinner, preferably advising us beforehand; the restaurant is also open to people who arent staying at the agritourism. In the kitchen we use our organic products: vegetables, fruit, cereals, pulses, various seeds, lambs, pigs, geese, chickens, pigeons and rabbits which we cultivate and rear on the organic farm of which the agritourism is a part. For the alimentary products which we dont produce ourselves we get supplies from local organic companies, such as for veal, oil and cheese. We cook dishes which are typical of our tradition: fresh pastas, ring-shaped cakes ciambellone, bostrengo, bastoncelli, roast goose, roast pork - porchetta, crostolo, bread made with mother yeast cooked in a wood-burning oven, products in oil, sweet-sours, jams and marmalades, liquors flavoured with fruit and flowers and wild herbs and grasses etc. We give much attention to natural dishes: wild herbs and grasses etc. We have two dining rooms furnished with tables and chairs with seats of straw, on the walls, which are a straw-yellow colour, small recesses open out in a red which is similar to the prevalent colour of the floor which is made of recovered bricks; and squares of old stone. The attic in the roof, with terracotta flat tiles, is supported by a wooden trussed roof.rates
