he Santa Caterina apartment complex is located in a highly panoramic area, right in the center of the renowned Siennese Clay Hills, the picturesque countryside bordering Siena known for softly rolling clay hills interspersed with patches of cultivated fields and woods. The clay hills landscape presents an ever-changing palette of colors during the year, from the dark reds and greens of winter to the brilliant greens of crop fields in spring and the golden hues of wheat in summer.

Our building is named for Saint Catherine, the patron saint of Siena, and dates back to the early 1900s, as can be seen from dates carved upon the facade and in a niche which once held a statue of the saint.

Six of our apartments are on the ground floor and boast independent entrances; five others are on the first floor, access to which is gained from a central staircase. There is ample, comfortable parking only a few steps from the main entrance to the property. Guests are welcome to use an outdoor barbecue and children's playground.

Other amenities available to our guests include a 8x12 m pool with built in whirlpool area and plenty of room with lounge chairs for sun-bathing.

rooms

The Santa Caterina farmhouse, dating back to 1900 but recently renovated, is subdivided into 11 apartments, 6 of which are located on the ground floor and 5 on the first floor, access to which is gained from a central staircase. 
Each apartment is furnished in a simple country style and is furnished with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Each apartment has independent heating*, air-conditioning*, a spacious and sunny kitchen-living area (equipped with refrigerator/freezer, small meal-warmer, teapot, Italian coffee pot, and kitchen linens). 
The spacious bedrooms are furnished either with a king-sized bed or two twin beds which can be united. All of the beds boast orthopedic springs and mattresses for your complete comfort. All of the bathrooms have box showers and hair-dryers. 

Upon your arrival, you will find the apartments ready with linens for both the bedrooms (sheets, pillowcases, and comforter), and bathrooms (for each person, 1 large, medium, and small towel). The linens are changed weekly but for a small additional charge, more frequent changes may be arranged upon request*. Some of the apartments on the first floor have a balcony or terrace with view equipped with a table and chairs, an ideal spot for enjoying local culinary delights in summer. Guests in the other apartments are welcome to enjoy the garden, which is also equipped with tables and chairs. 

Each apartment on the ground floor has a convenient independent entrance with a private outdoor area for relaxing furnished with chairs, a table, and an umbrella. Ample and convenient parking is available. 

services

POOL:The holiday house boasts lovely green grounds covering an area of two hectares, including a private parking lot, barbecue area, and small lake. The pool (8 x 12 metri) has a built in whirlpool area and plenty of room with lounge chairs for sun-bathing. Both are open, weather permitting, from 1 june to 30 September (ask for further information at the reception upon arrival). Use of the facilities is free of charge for all guests of the property.p.s.: the swimming pool this year close the 3 october.


PET POLICY:We require a 25 euro total fee for each dog or cat who stays with us (this fee is valid for stays from a minimum of 1 night to a maximum of 1 week). For longer stays, an additional 25 euro fee will be required. We remind our guests that in common areas, dogs must always be on leashes, and if it is possible that they could bite, they must also be muzzled. We ask that you please not allow pets to climb on sofas and beds, and that you supply your own pet bedding, food and drink. Pet bowls are available upon request. There are appropriate areas nearby where dogs can be walked and may relieve themselves in safety and comfort. Pets are welcome to have a swim in our small lake. 


BREAKFAST on request:Cost from 5,00 to 7,00 euros per person, served from 8:00 - 9:30. Ours is an abundant buffet breakfast served in the breakfast room during winter and in a furnished area outdoors during the summer months. You may choose among croissants, corn-flakes, homemade cakes, yogurt, rolls, butter and jam, various fruit juices, espresso or American-style coffee, tea, milk, hot chocolate and cappuccino.Note: breakfast is not included - In low season some time is not possible to do it , and we do only if we have a group  of people. To enjoy wonderful lunches and dinners based on local specialties, we encourage you to try the excellent restaurants in our area (8 km, 10 min by car) where our guests enjoy a special welcome and discounts. PRICES FOR CHILDREN:Children under the age of 2 : free in a baby cot in their parents' room. 
Children over the age of 3: free in their parents' bed. 
Otherwise, children will be provided with a proper single bed (not a foldaway); the reduced price will be set according to availability, length of stay and season.

The location of the the Santa Caterina apartment complex allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds:
� spacious, roomy accommodations with quiet, (soundproofed) rooms at a cost far lower than a city hotel

� the benefits of a countryside location, including outdoor spaces and a pool

� at the same time extremely convenient access (without endless winding dirt roads), to principal roads and towns. In fewer than 10 minutes by car you will reach both Siena and easy four-lane highways to other popular destinations (Florence, Arezzo, Rome, etc.)

where we are

Coming from Florence: take the 4 lane highway (SI-FI Superstrada 4 corsie) in the direction of Arezzo. Take the exit (on your right) for Taverne d'Arbia-Asciano. Continue in the direction of Asciano (you are now on the SP 438) for 8 km, which will take you to the Localita' Santa Caterina. Approximately 50 meters after the intersection for Mucigliani (which you will NOT TAKE) our complex with its wrought-iron gate will be on your right.

Coming from Perugia, Roma coming from the South on the Autostrada A1, exit at Valdichiana-Bettole-Sinalunga and continue on this (generally 4 lane) highway (Raccordo autostradale Perugia-Bettole) going in the direction of Siena. Take the exit (on your right) for Taverne d'Arbia-Asciano. Continue in the direction of Asciano (you are now on the SP 438) for 8 km, which will take you to the Localita' Santa Caterina. Approximately 50 meters after the intersection for Mucigliani (which you will NOT TAKE) our complex and its wrought-iron gate will be on your right.
