the farm

The farm, located in a quiet position surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, was established in 1998 but, despite its recent setting up, is now a dynamic and versatile farm characterized by a strong devotion to the land and to the relevant agricultural produce. Here vines are cultivated with much attention and care to obtain the precious nectar, which represents the most important resource, followed by the production of extra-virgin olive oil and of other local products deeply rooted in the Middle Ages, such as saffron and Certaldo onions.    Since 1999 the farm holiday activity with restaurant service has been added as well. So, besides art attractions offered by this area, guests have also the opportunity of knowing another essential aspect of the Tuscan territory, that is to say our food-and-wine products. Here you can taste the local dishes of the Tuscan cooking prepared with healthy and genuine products: in fact vegetables are picked at the farm�s vegetable garden, small poultry (geese, ducks, rabbits, chickens, pigs, goats etc.) are bred at the farm, while new-laid eggs are used for preparing fancy omelettes with vegetables, delicious cakes, pies and fragrant tagliatelle.

The farm holiday LE TRE STELLE is not a country hotel as other residences located in the surrounding area: no strangers or subordinates are involved in the guest reception or deal with swimming pool, garden and room cleaning � in fact everything is directly managed by the lady owners because �the farm holiday is their home!!!        Our farm is exactly the right place for those people wishing to spend their holidays in Tuscany in close contact with farming (attention: there is no farm holiday without farming!!!), guided by the following slogans: "WITH MY ANIMALS" all pets are allowed (if you don�t love animals, you will not be welcome to our farm!!!)"IN FAMILY" the atmosphere is friendly and ideal if you want to establish new relationships and get to know the other guests, spending cheerful hours as you were at home."LOCAL DISHES" all guests sit down to eat at the same table (we don�t have single tables as at the restaurant!!!) to taste old recipes and local dishes of the Tuscan tradition.

The farm Le Tre Stelle has also two small but comfortable apartments for vacation, which are located along the walls of San Gimignano, only 150 meters far from the main gate of the town Porta San Giovanni. Both apartments has independent entrance, tuscan style furniture, beds in wrought iron, terracotta floor, beamed ceiling and private heating. Both apartments has free access to the small garden, where are living ornamental plants and roses where guests can enjoy relaxing or eating in the hottest days.

Romantic dining room with kitchen, table and fireplace (wood are not included in the price) a doubleroom, a bathroom with shower. 2�piano (X 2/4 persone) cucina con piccolo balcone,1 bagno con doccia,1 camera matrimoniale,nel corridoio sono sistemati 2 lettini a castello.On the first floor: for 4 guests (2+2) a living room with kitchen, table and a little balcony, 2 single beds, 1 doubleroom and a bathroom with shower.  THERE IS NOT A PRIVATE PARKING. We will suggests to guests where park the car free only 200/250 meters far from the apartement. Ideal accommodation for people would like to visit San Gimignano and the nearest city of art whitout driving car. The apartements are situated in a strategic place; nearby you find all you need to spend a great time in Tuscany and to do an unforgettable holidays:

The farm holiday has a very large parking, a swimming pool and a restaurant hall. The roomy rooms are all equipped with TV and offer a panoramic view.Open all year long.Closed from January 10th to 20th.

In the morning you can have home-made cakes and, on request, salami and cold meats, cheese and fresh eggs for breakfast. In the evening the guests who want to taste delicious dishes sit down to dinner at the same table placed in winter in the specially provided restaurant hall on the first floor, which is heated by a large wood-burning fireplace. But in summer you can eat outdoor in a large garden full of flowers, immersed in the delicate scent of roses and jasmines, in nice and cheerful company of the lady owners of the farm.

The lady owners of the farm holiday, Maria, Donatella and Antonella, are personally involved in the reception and care of their guests, suggesting nice places to visit and interesting routes to follow. The rooms available at this farm house, for a total of 10 beds, are roomy, full of light and equipped with reproduction furniture.
PRICES AND CONDITIONS Prices change according to the selected period and to the number of overnight stays. Double room per overnight stay: from � 60 to 80, breakfast included.Additional bed: 10 Euro Dinner: 25 / 30 Euro per person, beverages included.Final cleaning if you take your pets with you: 10 Euro

surrondings

The towered village of San Gimignano is located on a hill overlooking Valdelsa, at an altitude of 324 m. Populated since the time of the Etruscans, it won fame and power at the end of the Middle Ages thanks to its location along one of the richest and most flourishing roads of the time: the pilgrim route to Rome or Francigean Way.   Its glorious medieval past is witnessed by the 15 remaining towers and by the building works dating back to the municipal time, as for example the double city wall, the two gates, the two fountains, the churches as well as the several public and private buildings present in the charming Piazza della Cisterna and the fascinating Piazza del Duomo.

The farm LE TRE STELLE is located at a very short distance from the nice village of Certaldo and only 8 km away from the towered small town of San Gimignano.  
 FROM THE NORTH: A1 exit Firenze-Certosa, junction to Siena, exit Poggibonsi Nord and then, to reach Certaldo, drive on towards San Gimignano.
FROM THE SOUTH: A1 exit Valdichiana, Sinalunga, Siena, Poggibonsi Nord, drive on towards San Gimignano. 
FROM CERTALDO: Turn left and arrive in Badia a Elmi.- Passing close to gas station and Latini Hotel Restaurant, continue along for about 1 kilometer- You do not turn left in the direction San Benbedetto-Ulignano- After about half kilometer turn left where is the signboard Le Tre Stelle,take the white road. We suggest to not use GPS Navigation, but to download a map from website www.viamichelin.com writing as final destination "via Fonte di Campaino -San Gimignano Siena"
