the farm

�Agriturismo Il Castoro� (where dogs are not allowed) is situated on Martignano lake shores, at 40 minutes from Rome, in the regional Park of Bracciano Martignano. The lake, which has volcanic origins, had formed about 130.000 years ago. Our place was well known by ancient Romans; as a proof we can admire some ruins, as, for instance, the opening of Alseatinum aqueduct. Martignano is among the most beautiful and appreciated lakes in Italy, because of the complete lack of urbanization, and the peace that surrounds it.  You will have the chance to rent our apartments or to stay in our campsite, with tents or with your vehicle. It is possible even to have a daily stay, taking advantage of the beautiful picnic area on the lake�s shore, where a long line of poplars, with comfortable hammocks and deckchairs, complete our offer.

rooms

Our apartments have a beautiful view on the lake, being only 200 mt far from it. The apartments are situated in a recently renovated hamlet and it is accessible to disabled persons. We have a maximum capacity of 12 sleeping accommodations, over two two-room flats and a one-room flat. You can rent in advance the apartments even for short periods and during July and August only for a minimum period of one week, from Saturday to Saturday.  Apartments are nicely furnished and all on the ground floor; their main features include: Small garden with a wooden table; Lovely bedroom, with queen-size bed Comfortable living room with a two place sofa bed; Furnished kitchenette; Television; Autonomous heating and cooling; Bathroom (with shower).

services

While going for a walk between the poplars, it is common to meet our guests having a rest, or peacefully reading a book. It is possible as well to have a swim or a relaxing bath in the lake, even if we do not have guarded swimming areas, and boat rentals.  On the farm you can do: canoeing, fishing for sport, bird-watching, sailing, jogging, trekking and if you wish you can even help out on the farm, taking part in a unique experience. If you�re looking for a place just to relax you have found the right place. In fact, at your disposal we have comfortable hammocks by the lake between poplars, which form a beautiful background to the beach.

restaurant

There is a small informal restaurant next to the lake shores, where you will appreciate our gastronomy. By the way the tables are open air, therefore the restaurant is open only during the summer. The restaurant is independent from the holiday farm, but it respects our opening and closing time.

From Rome: Take the Cassia Bis and turn off at Km 35, follow the directions for Anguillara-Trevignano and after about 6.5 Kms turn left heading towards Anguillara. After 1.5 Kms turn left and take the country road �Via di Polline� and follow our directions.From the A1 motorway: Turn off at Magliano Sabina, go towards Civitacastellana, continue on to Nepi and get onto the Cassia heading towards Rome, turn off at Km 35 and follow the direction for Anguillara-Trevignano and after about 6.5 Kms turn left heading towards Anguillara. After 1.5 Kms turn left and take the country road �Via di Polline� and follow our directions.
