the farm
An oasis of peace into the green of Tuscany.Settled at 713 m. above the sea level, Tramonte is a wonderful hamlet of the 18th century completely renewed with a breath-taking view on Casentino valleys. Mountains, woods, ancient forests and flowers create charming landscapes in every season.
Beeing surrounded by a luxuriant nature, by its sounds, by endless landscapes creates a magic alchemy for who lives in this place, also for just few days. The consequence is a natural sense of freedom that will relax you and that will be able to nestle you with our typical cuisine, made of ancient and genuine tastes.
A good waking up is important for us too. In Borgo Tramonte there are no hours! Everyone follows his/her own natural times, early or late, for everybody a breakfast made of handmade cakes, honey and jams to taste taking yours times.
If you want to combine relax and wealthy activities, you will have too much to choose from.
For art and culture lovers, the area offers numerous settlemets of medieval age, with beautiful little country churches (pievi), castles and monasteries (see chapter 'Surroundings'). Walking, riding and passing by mountain bike through the paths in the Casentino National Park is an unforgettable experience for sport lovers. It is possible to play tennis in Stia, from May to September you can enjoy our swimming pool 12x7. In only five min. drive you can reach the sport centre in Stia and Palagio park where it's possible to use freely Calcedonia thermal waters.
At only ten km. there is a a nine-hole golf course and a ski resort at only 15 km.
What to add?
Only that it won't be you to choose Borgo Tramonte, because Borgo Tramonte has already chosen you. .
Have a nice holiday!
structures
For us, who have decided to leave our cities for living in this beautiful valley, it is easy to speak of it with enthusiastic tones and we realize that this description can seem discounted at reader's eye! Nevertheless the fact of sharing and above all to make these places know to our hosts is something that gratifies us and it is part of this experience. After this unusual premise we can say that Casentino region will remain in your heart! It is an important statement, but after visiting places as Camaldoli and above all the Verna Santuary we have not any doubt about it. Beyond its nature variety and the beauty of its landscapes, the Casentino region offers high level historical and artistic testimonies - as for example the Romanesque Pievi (little countryside churches) spread on the territory - and Poppi, Romena and Porciano Castles
The aspect we find particular is the contrast between a tourism made of culture, relax and contact with nature to another made of amusement and feast in experiencing the numerous festivals, fairs and events that characterize the villages of the valley during the whole year: the chestnut fair, the mushrooms fair, the potato and the tortello fairs, the Biennial festival of the wrought iron in Stia, the Giumela in Pratovecchio, only to quote few ones.
There would be still much to say, but we hope you discover it living these places. See you soon!
